In 2023 she graduated with a BFA in dance from The Theatre Academy of The University of The Arts Helsinki in 2023, having completed part of the studies at The Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen.
Using the body as a medium she explores social phenomenas and norms, identity, gaze, alternative enbodiments and popular culture. Iiris’ practise exploits complex choreographed movement material and improvisation in parallel and her movement language draws on contemporary dance techniques as well as jazz and western commercial dance.
Iiris was one of Amos Rex museum’s Generation 23-artists. Her debut choreography 3,2,1 (The Walk) premiered at Amos Rex in 2023 and her latest solo work Still we play it was curated for Avis De Tempête Raccords Festival in Paris, France in 2025.
In the recent years she has worked with choreographers and dance companies such as Ima Iduozee (FI), Svalholm (DK), Klevis Elmazaj (NL), The Nordic Beasts (DK) and performed in productions such as Savoy Theater’s West Side Story and Finnish National Opera’s Don Giovanni and The Ostrobothnians.
Over the years Iiris has performed with Finland’s leading artists such as Isac Elliot, Mikael Gabriel, Evelina, Krista Siegfrieds and Jonna Geagea.
